Election Commission should request people to go through the list of voters to verify their own family members' name, but also check the list for all their friends and relatives. If they find anything wrong they should bring it to the notice of the concerned person and also inform the Electoral Officer concerned. People should be allowed to do this even anonymously so that they can report without any fear about bogus voters. People who have changed their residences should clearly be told that they will not be allowed to vote from their old address, because it is in this way more bogus votes are cast. As we had seen in the last election, votes are fetching as much as Rs.5000/- and Mumbai elections will see a huge lot of bogus voting, as hundreds of crores will be spent in them.
