They won't hesitate to kill an innocent mother, if she happens to be the mother of their opponent!
I am disappointed at the
conclusion you have arrived at in so far it relates to her infraction. You
totally ignore the point that the previous government did hardly anything
worthwhile to get him back to India and in fact wanted him to remain there so
that he does not come back and open the Pandora's box. You also ignore that
Lalit Modi has been a friend of Sushmaji's family long before he became an IPL
Commissioner. Modi attended the wedding of the son of Digvijay Singh. If
Digvijay calls Modi and requests to expedite some favor which is available to
him legally and if Modi obliges him, will you call it an infraction? How do you
think cine starts are getting away with a pat on the knuckle for all the crimes
they have been committing, if not for their 'personal' relationship established
with those wielding power in the administration? Let's not forget that any, I
mean, any decision taken by any Minister is based on his evaluation of pros and
cons. He can be faulted only and only if he has violated any established law,
NOT customary practices or he did so for some consideration in return. Sushma
would have spoken to the U.K.Parliamentarian whether she was a Minister or not
and because she was a Minister, she even specifically told the
U.K.Parliamentarian to go by the law of his country. Again such inappropriate
behaviour is judged by comparison with other such instances. Congress party has
cited some example of their Ministers quitting their posts. Would you seriously
believe that they were fair comparison? Even self confessed or proven murderers
have been declared to be innocent
on 'technical' grounds. Do you remember the case of the person who had raped a nurse 40 years ago confessing to his crime recently? The fact is if Lalu does something illegal, people hardly bother to ask for his crucification, because everybody knows he is a criminal and criminal do what they always do. But with the totally blemish less record of Sushmaji is it just and fair to ask her to quit her job and go in the wilderness forever? I don't remember anyone asking Nehru to resign for his letters to Lady Mountbatten? It was not even an impropriety. It was a filthy action. We don't even talk about it. Was the Emergency a small crime? But as Lalu keeps on telling, he has been exonerated in people's court because he won an election after coming out of jail, Indira Gandhi has also been exonerated it seems. It is a shame on Indian media that they consider the attitude of 'holier than thou' better suited to their stature than accepting the Christian saying, “All right, but let the one who has never sinned throw the first stone!”
