HOW DO YOU ERADICATE ISIS?

The safe havens are not inhabited ONLY by ISIS soldiers. Let's also not forget that had not other nations continued to buy its oil and other products paying in hard cash and armaments, ISIS would not have been able to exist, let alone grow into a monster. It is not ISIS that is the problem. The real problem is a divided world. A divided extremely SELFISH nations who refuse to unite leave alone for common good, for their own good!

ISIS sure has a very large number of hostages taken by them but has also women and children and others serving them. Does the UN resolution mean 'eradicating' all these people also along with ISIS cadre? Vague resolutions with loopholes are never implemented. If you want to eradicate something, be brave enough to specify what you want to eradicate and how.

We have seen that ideas, good or bad, exist for ever. Ku Klux Klan, Black shirts of Germany, Communism, religious intolerance etc. cannot be eradicated. Only controlled and contained by better ideas. Yes, just like these, the idea of ISIS also can be exposed and unless nurtured by some nations for their own selfish purposes, it will die of its own. It is those nations who are covertly supporting ISIS which should be ostracized and taught a lesson. The problem is every nation is looking at its own interests and not others'. Had it not been so, this resolution would have been tabled and passed unanimously long back without waiting for a passenger airliner to be downed or mass killing of citizens of two of the super powers was successfully attempted. However, there is a glimmer of hope that something worthwhile might be done this time because the resolution has not at least been vetoed!

Even now I do not think the super powers are serious and honest. Most likely they will cripple ISIS to a very large extent, but will be far from eradicating it. Because eradicating ISIS will mean eradicating along with it a few nations as they exist today because they overtly and covertly support ISIS and stopping them from supporting ISIS is well nigh impossible because they support ISIS as an IDEA. Neither the UN nor the Super Powers have the guts to implement even the half hearted and compromised resolution they have passed. I am afraid many more killings in many more nations will be required for something concrete to happen. Let's not forget that all this terrorism came to open starting with 9/11 and nothing more horrible has been done since then. So, why nothing concrete has been done all these 15 years except different nations supporting different factions of the terrorist groups? In the process they were knowingly allowed to develop. Just like cancer in part of a body is allowed to remain for whatever might be the reason, till it consumes the whole body.
