A lesson we can learn from Trump’s ban on unwanted foreign visitors:
Who have been the most unwelcome guests for the last two centuries?Yes, for the last two centuries? It is those Christian ‘Fathers’! They took upon themselves the job of telling us that our real ‘father’ was someone very different. They tried to make a mess of the ordinary folk's view of their own God, as they had known all along, though much in vain. But the efforts of two centuries have left indelible black marks on our nation and turned one against another and divided the country, giving a fillip to other ideologies to fish in troubled waters.
Our government can now take the following steps on the lines of what Trump had done, to protect the USA from foreign invaders of its freedom of religion, among other things.
1. All tourists will be expected to be tourists and behave like tourists and govt should not permit them to follow their profession be it a doctor, journalist, educationist, whatsoever.
2. Such tourists should seek and have on hand before arrival, explicit permission to address a meeting or attend a seminar relating to their profession or be practicing it, with or without any compensation.
3. They should not interact with Indian media except for tourism related matters as far as it concerns them.
4. Any violation should entail punishment by way of fines, a jail term or both and even asking them to go back to their country.
Some of our neighbors may have objections to these provisions because India is also the birthplace of their religions and has several holy places visited by them on pilgrimage. But nobody should fear if the tour is ONLY for tourism and pilgrimage. India should also welcome reciprocal restrictions on Indian pilgrims in other nations so as to show that India does not mean to hurt anyone’s religious sentiments.
