WHAT IS BEAUTY?
About 50 years before a Bengali gentleman, who was Engineer in Royal Enfield at that time, explained to me what is beautiful. I was young and asked him how come he was calling our temple sculptures of ladies “beautiful”? The following was his reply: “Yes if you see separately different parts of their body, you will find them entirely disproportionate to each other and even very ugly. But when you look at them as a whole, you will find them beauty personified. You don’t feel ‘sexy’ but only admire the beauty. Because our mind has the capacity, it can see the whole at the same time and also appreciate the beauty of it.” But nowadays we have become blind with open eyes.
