I will commit suicide if I
were Sonia Gandhi!
Think of those early days
when she was the apple of the eyes of a large number of Indians. She was a young and beautiful wife of one of the most eligible bachelors of India,
Rajiv Gandhi, away from intense scrutiny, with those adorable cute children
Rahul and Priyanka. Though born in a very poor Italian family being adored by more
than 100 crores of people and that too without having to shoulder any responsibility whatsoever, is
not the dream of every girl. Even after the assassination of both her mother in
law and her husband, she was not faulted. After remaining almost out of
sight for six long years, she suddenly landed with a blast in the political
arena at 51 and by God, these 17 years since then have been a roller coaster
ride for her, all the way up. Who would not have thought the future of India would depend upon the will and pleasure of this lady during this period! She ruled as
an uncrowned Queen all that she surveyed!
At the height of her
reign, every leader vied for a meeting with her, a visit to 10, Janpath, the castle where the Queen lived, was tantamount to a visit to 10 Downing St. All national and regional parties
at that time like CPI, CPM, Trinamool Congress, DMK, AIADMK, NCP, etc. begged to
join the coalition led by her. Even her mother in law, who led the nation by
Emergency, was not held in such an awe for so long, as Sonia Gandhi. All this was
till about a year back.
Her stars deserted her
when Narendra Modi started shining in 2014. Quicker than darkness which
vanishes with the rising sun, she was brought down to earth. What is hear
position now? The same people like Mulayam Singh and Lalu Yadav who were vying
with each other to be her most obedient servants, are treating her as though
she is a leader like Ajit Singh or Chautala! Where hundreds of people once surrounded
her with innumerable bouquets and garlands and she walked regally with leaders
deferring to her by leaving enough space to heighten her regal posture for viewers on live TV, now she
is reduced to shoulder by herself to be visible even among the small crowd of courtiers.
Where once she was standing at a high pedestal with a few close lackeys in
attendance holding an umbrella, while a large crowd all around was chanting
slogans praising her and sometimes a very small crowd of those who opposed her
were kept at a distance by police, she is now compelled by circumstance to
stand, just imagine, STAND for long in hot sun without an umbrella, RUBBING
shoulders with the same lackeys, and SHOUTING slogans against the same whom she
never minced words while abusing! Even television people have stopped directly
telecasting her protests!
If I were Sonia Gandhi, I
would have put up with this much even. But the last straw was this: In her own home
grounds a hardly two year old 'bachcha' of a leader is hosting a tea party to
plan how to oppose their sworn enemy. All those who thought it was a moment of
pride to respond to her beck and call have been invited to the party. But she
has NOT been invited. SHE, the GREAT QUEEN OF MODERN INDIA, has not been
invited. Ignored totally. With what face she will look at lackeys tomorrow?
Now, will you blame me if I
commit suicide if I were Sonia Gandhi?
