Adityanath and the Hindus Serious discussion takes places only when you question your own thought process in the light of what the other says. Discussion takes place when you want to know what makes the other think in a different way and if that is justified. There are many issues where both could be right or wrong!  But if you think what you say is absolutely right and the other is wrong there cannot be any meaningful discussion. Adityanath says the word "Hindu" means one belonging to Hindustan. The word is an Urdu word and came into the language after Muslim kingdoms were established here to denote that this is the nation where Hindus lived. The then Muslim invaders did not consider themselves to belong to this nation as our way of living was totally different to theirs. It should be noted that the invaders could not accept the word 'Bharat' prevalent at that time because it had political connotation inasmuch as it was derived from the name of the Indian King B
Let's not cry over split milk. Just throw it away. http://www.ndtv.com/video/player/the-buck-stops-here/watch-supreme-court-s-coal-verdict-stain-on-manmohan-s-legacy/335690?hp It is sad that comments are made without any deep thinking as to (1) why it was done and (2) then why it was continued and (3) what we should do for such things not to happen. For (1) & (2) the answer is solely because of coalition compulsions. PVR's govt was literally a minority govt and he somehow managed by making opposition parties fight with each other and taking the support of one party or the other. Coalgate was the price he paid. Vajpayee also paid the same price for the same reason. The UPA1 & UPA2 had to continue with the polity because they had introduced it originally. About question (3) We have already taken necessary steps as is evident. We now have a govt which has a clear majority in Lok Sabha and will have majority in Rajya Sabha by the time next Assebly elections are over
Whom should the world fear: The stock market bandits or the 'Terrorists'? http://money.cnn.com/2014/08/12/investing/mit-professor-scam/index.html?hpt=hp_t2 This is the naked picture of capitalism which teaches if your client/customer is an idiot, it is OK to swindle him by hook or crook. You will find this trait in almost everyone who trades in stock market or works for ANY investment company on in corporations which think their first duty is to pay as much as possible to shareholders (of course, after the senior most executives and directors take their cut). As with any criminal / immoral activity, it all starts in a very small scale and as one gets used to the poison it devours the whole system. In the 17th century there were 2 such collapses, 18th - 7, 19th - 13 and in 20th - 17. In the 21st century there have been so far 5 in these 14 years and at this rate there will be about 35 more in this century! Are we going to learn anything from this? Absolutely not. We
A JUDGE RECALLS! After retirement it is despicable for a judge to publicly speak about the corruption prevalent in higher judiciary during his active service period. He cannot absolve himself of any responsibility when he was fully aware of what was happening,  by simply pointing fingers. He proves himself a moral coward when he passes on the buck to the CJ of SC to take action and hold the bag. His accusation of several CJs that they did not act upon his reports because they did not want to rock the boat, first applies to himself. Quite possibly he got the post retirement job of Chairman of Press Council because the government and the judiciary at the time of his retirement, were aware of his complaints and thought unless he was kept happy with some job, he might spill the beans embarrassing both. Did you know that he retired as SC judge on 19th September, 2011 and was nominated as Chairman, Press Council on 5th October the same year! Just within less than three weeks! Real fa
Real story behind Rahul's fear for the life of Sonia Gandhi! Natwar Singh turns out to be Natwar Lal! There have been reports that after Sonia met the President Mukherjee after the elections in 2004 and submiitted a list of her party members, it was considered the last step before she was called to form the govt but the President was advised subsequent to the meeting that she could not become the PM, because under the reciprocal agreement between India and Italy, Sonia could not become the PM of India because no Indian taking up citizenship of Italy, can become the PM of Italy. That is the reason MMS was appointed PM in the last minute. The truth behind the Rahul's fear for the life of Sonia was to be confirmed by Natwar Singh and therefore Sonia and Priyanka met him as he says and persuaded him to float the Rahul Gandhi angle to the story so that it will look legitimate coming from an 'enemy'. Death threat to Sonia would have continued irrespective of whether she
Religion has to do with our after life. Politics has to do with our present life. http://www.ndtv.com/article/india/alliance-colour-visible-at-lalu-prasad-s-iftar-565811 Iftar is a religious function of breaking fast by Muslims after the end of the holy month of Ramzan. In India it has developed more as a fashionable social occasion for some of those not belonging to Islam to celebrate it, just like diwali, a similar religion based social function. Iftar parties by these people in India have become meaningless and are hosted only to show off political strength and cajole Muslims into thinking they are cared for. Iftar parties do not indicate any mutual desire for harmony as I have not heard of any Muslim leaders inviting those of other religions to any of their own Iftar celebration. It is all one sided like Hindus singing "Iswar Allah Tere Naam.." but Muslims never singing it, recognizing the content of this prayer to God. It is time we see  religion as something person
Has CAG lost its way? http://indianexpress.com/article/india/gujarat/irrigation-projects-in-gujarat-remained-incomplete-for-14-long-years-cag/ When people write their report on CAG's working, they will unanimously say "We are happy CAG has at last found its voice after fourteen long years!" Media can also be more effective if they publish alongside the explanation given by the government for this lapse. Otherwise one may conclude that just like the CAG, the media is also only indulging in pick and publish game pandering to its bias, instead of discharging its duty to enlighten readers. The opposition should also realize, just like the CAG, that their adversarial role of being in opposition or auditing what the government had done, does not mean you have to find fault day in and day out in everything the government does. It has a very important role to play in good governance as much as the ruling party has. That is by constructive criticism. If they can do this s

Amway and stock market!

How do you make money in stock market? You buy shares of a company hoping it will work better and the value of shares will go up, giving a profit on your investment. You do not work for the company in any way. If the company does not work well, its shares do not appreciate and your investment does not give any return. How does Amway makes you money? You do not invest much, but initially you invest your time and effort to recruit people who in turn will recruit more like minded people. If all those recruited work well in recruiting more and more, you make a lot of money, many a time millions! But if your recruits do not work well, you do not make money. You will thus find there is not much difference between share holding and Amway membership. If the former is legal, the latter should also be legal. One difference is while by selling the shares you have bought you may be able to recover at least a part of your original investment, if you do not recruit more members who also in turn sho

TMC / AAP INFILTRATED

TMC / AAP INFILTRATED! Have you every thought how is that parties with good intentions like TMC and AAP have turned out to be far from the ideals they espoused? Any party irrespective of its goals, turns out to be what its cadre turn out to be. Congress with lofty ideals turned out to be the most corrupt. Jan Sangh aka BJP a staunch RSS unit, turned out to be less anti Muslim and more nationalistic. CPI and CPM exist only in labour unions. The disgruntled cadres of CPI/CPM and Congress have infiltrated TMC and AAP and are turning them in their own past images. Unless the leadership of TMC and AAP take corrective steps soonest and remain vigilant in future, they will also go the same way as their past versions have gone.
Nirupam forecasts Congress will be rooted out in Maharashtra Assembly elections! What Nirupam says about forthcoming Mumbai Assembly elections, was exactly what Congress was telling about Parliamentary elections! From 18th October 1999 Congress has been ruling in Maharashtra. If anti-incumbency was the main reason for Congress losing Parliamentary elections, the same reason applies to Maharashtra elections also. It means Nirupam is accepting defeat of Congress in Maharashtra even before elections have been announced! Harishchandra Putra Satya Vachan Sanjay Nirupam AICC Secretary Zindabad! http://www.sify.com/news/on-congress-ticket-even-modi-would-have-lost-nirupam-news-national-oghvafcceee.html?source=sifyhome&slot=c1s2

TIME TO GET VOTERS' LIST UPDATED!

Election Commission should request people to go through the list of voters to verify their own family members' name, but also check the list for all their friends and relatives. If they find anything wrong they should bring it to the notice of the concerned person and also inform the Electoral Officer concerned. People should be allowed to do this even anonymously so that they can report without any fear about bogus voters. People who have changed their residences should clearly be told that they will not be allowed to vote from their old address, because it is in this way more bogus votes are cast. As we had seen in the last election, votes are fetching as much as Rs.5000/- and Mumbai elections will see a huge lot of bogus voting, as hundreds of crores will be spent in them. Elections however efficiently and openly may be conducted, will remain a farce if they are based on incorrect voters list. Let's not forget that Congress does not exist now in three of the largest citie
Chuck Hagel warns China!  USA has become, of late, a real paper tiger. It never 'says' anything. It 'warns'! Who is afraid? None. Absolutely none. Russia, China, Syria, Afghanistan, Pakistan, you name it, not even African countries! Is it prepared to put its troops where its mouth is? When it was selling all kinds of heavy arms and war planes to every country willing to pay the price, it should have known you reap what you sow! Capitalistic countries focusing only on profits without any plan for future, always end up like this. After the devastation of world war and then the atrocities of Mao tse-Tung it quietly drew up a very long term plan: First enticed the USA's business by offering cheap labor and has almost made it totally dependent upon it for small and medium industrial products costing the USA millions of local jobs for its own citizens. In the process its own economy thrived and it built a 1000 billion dollar portfolio! US will go bankrupt if China c
Arvind Kejriwal needs another chance, as I need another plague! No party gets a chance to form a government after the very first election and AK-47 got that chance. He did not know the value of it and resigned on false pretext. People of Delhi will be without a government for almost a year because of him and people's money running into crores will be spent for another election. Even now he does not have a plan what he will do if the same situation arises. It is funny he promises not to resign from the government presuming he will be elected with majority now. He should also tell what he will do if he is in minority and whether he will side with any other party to form a government or will put the blame for dissolution and another government on other parties? His broke his promise on his own children, did not keep his promise on prosecuting Sheila Dikshit for corruption, made a mockery of his promise for reduction in electricity bills, forgot his promise for supply of water to
CONFESSIONS OF JAIRAM RAMESH! It is sad that Ramesh sees only foxing each other in the elections. He does not yet see the only major issue which was voted by one and all was inflation, which affected every individual and corruption among almost every government agency or servant, from top to bottom, which abolished level playing field in everyday life. Modi explained in simple words by making Gujarat a shining example that both issues could be tackled. Besides he also proved casteism is a non-issue when it is an option of either casteism or development. The next election will be fought on the basis of how much Modi worked ONLY for development and how far he succeeded. Even if he succeeds 30% or above, he will be re-elected. Of course, Congress will fight on the basis of what has not been done or what has gone wrong, etc. and any such negative propaganda will get it nowhere. On the other by suggesting improvements in the proposals and making Modi accept their suggestions by prom
What was missing in Modi's speech: India consists of poor, middle-class, higher-class, rich, very rich and super rich.  All those in higher classifications did not reach there ONLY by unscrupulous means nor all those in lower classifications remain there because of oppression by higher classes. The government belongs to all and it is its duty to take care of all. Exclusively talking about the welfare of only the poor or imply that country belongs to the poor only alienates the higher classes. A large percentage of those in higher classes come from the lower classes after spending years in studies and hard work. Not getting the well deserved recognition will only make them lose any interest in government policies and in their implementation. It should be fully recognized that if poor represent labour, higher classes represent capital and they co-exist. One cannot do without the other. Unless both are recognized uniformly, divisions will continue to enlarge between them and we
IS MULAYAM A TULSIDAS? Facts do not guide your decisions. What you think are facts guide your decisions. The fact that ALL  U.P. electorate has rejected communal politics or all over India Muslim minority has finally got out of that web weaved around them only to get their votes and not for their welfare, has not yet sunk in the mind of Mulayam. Till it does he will continue with his communal politics. Do you remember the story of Tulsidas who was holding for support a snake while trying to cross the river Ganga? He seriously believed it was not a snake, but thought it was a low hanging branch of a tree? Mulayam is modern Tulsidas. http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/home/lok-sabha-elections-2014/news/Mulayam-to-vacate-one-of-his-seats-for-Muslim-face/articleshow/35406626.cms?utm_source=twitter.com&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=timesofindia
ONLY A FOOL WILL COMMIT THE SAME MISTAKE TWICE. WILL YOU? Arvind Kejriwal thinks he is very clever. He has proof of it. Did not he replace the entrenched Congress Party and its Chief Minister from the Capital of the largest democracy in the world by democratic process within a period of just a few months? Without any money of his own, but from donations openly received and above all with his own eloquence? Did not he almost got a majority of his own after the very first election? What more proof you may ask for? You know confidence tricksters? They too look and act and make people believe they are very very intelligent and honest and know what they are talking about. That is until they are caught. Have you seen magicians performing feats which are totally unbelievable? You will not know how they do it, though you know what they were showing was some trick. Once you come to know what the trick was, you are no more interested in the magician or trickster. Now the problem is Arv
ANOTHER DYNASTIC RULE COMING DOWN IN J&K  State Governments on the verge of being replaced are taking last minutes decisions like the previous Congress Govt did at the Center. While some good decisions were taken at this last moment because they had been kept in abeyance for years due to corruption, the J&K Govt is going in the opposite direction. It is removing a ban on sending prepaid SMSes on cell phones which was placed at the request of security agencies four years before! This removal will only aid terrorists for creating unrest by sending mass SMSes. A parting kick! Why are they removing the ban NOW which they had imposed earlier? The Abdullahs had been ruling J&K claiming that they were alone capable of controlling the Pak terrorists, while they had always been in touch with the terrorists and allowing them to create panic situations now and then in mutual interest. Congress government was fully aware of the situation but let the situation continue, because
TOI TRYING TO BELITTLE MODI's VICTORY! http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/home/lok-sabha-elections-2014/news/BJPs-31-lowest-vote-share-of-any-party-to-win-majority/articleshow/35315930.cms The author of this article has tried his best to belittle the victory of the BJP by twisting facts beyond recognition. He has been in a great hurry and probably is not aware that there are different electoral systems, all totally democratic. The article starts with a false conclusion. You cannot compare the winning percentage of the votes of 1967 with that of 2014 because the number of parties sharing the votes has enormously increased. If there were 2 parties then, the minimum winning percentage will be 51; but when there are 4 parties, the minimum percentage will be 26. "Not even one in three chose BJP" exclaims the author.  This statement will be true only if people had been asked to vote in its favour or against it. As the number of contesting parties increases and als
Election results 2014: Reverse polarization is why Muslim votes did not count in UP and Bihar If you seriously believe this, you should also be believing the canard of Christian Missionaries bent upon converting everyone into Christianity. It is true that there are some people and even some well managed organizations with the sole purposes of universalizing their religion. But you will find them existing even after ten centuries, just like those who deny climate change now.  You may ask why then the majority of Muslims don't laugh at the few sticking to this propaganda. It has many reasons. One is the very wide spread comparative, but distinctly obvious, poverty among Muslims as compared to others. This gives them a feeling of inferiority complex. Just as well-to-do people group together, so do poor and they hold on to their religion as a group identity to feel better. So much so that most of them are afraid even to speak against the violence indulged by a few among them

OLD WINE IN NEW BOTTLE: We should not underestimate the cunning AAP leadership. They do have a long term plan and according to that only they are working. Till today the plan has worked 100% right. They almost got majority in Delhi. They quit because they had collected enough money till then and there was no scope in running a government and make money, unless your party is corrupt. They could not afford that because that will be the end of their party. So they quit. They put up 400+ candidates after collecting hefty sums from them and collected much more by one line collections bluffing that they were running an expensive national campaign. A major portion of that money was spent in the campaign of Arvind Kejriwal because even if he is the only one elected, he will have a great publicity speaking in parliament and throwing mud on everybody. Their plan is to contest in all state assembly elections till 2019 and gather votes. Their next goal is to collect enough votes in elections so
HOW TO CONTROL CANDIDATES FROM VIOLATING MODEL CODE OF CONDUCT? Election Commission should not keep on issuing notices of violation to candidates and others. With the first notice EC should say that if another violation occurs, they will be designated officially as 'unreliable' candidates and in spite of that one more (third instance of such folly) instance occurs, they should be debarred for six years from contesting any election. That will make sure they don't cross the line.
MODI TO ANNOUNCE HIS RETIREMENT? These old bandicoots think that there is no retirement in public life! For God's sake Joshi is 80 and Advani is 87! And these stretcher cases want to continue in office till they are 85 and 92? Are they so blessed with wisdom and administrative skills that India cannot do without them? Is India so bereft of capable hands? I am sure Modi will not allow any of these guys to hold any office requiring active handling. They can, of course, considered for any honorary office. To teach all these guys, it would be better if Modi himself announces that he would retire politics just like Vajpayee after two terms of office when he would be around preferably 74 or at worst he will not serve later than 80. This will shut their mouth. http://www.ndtv.com/elections/article/election-2014/murli-manohar-joshi-meets-rss-chief-bats-for-sidelined-bjp-leaders-520163
RUSHDIE & HIS ILK: These opinionated 'intellectuals'! They think if, a big IF, they are good in their fields, they are good enough to advise everybody else. Did they utter a single word all these ten years about what was going on? No, because according to them these are 'political' matters and do not concern them. But suddenly they realize they might be missing the big parties and the gatherings of their ilk.  They might not get the big media adulation anymore. If they are not a part of it, how could anything be good for the nation? For them poverty and poor people did not exist in their India, which as one of them put it "is a state of mind".  But come May 16, those whom these people despise, will be stealing the headlines and after a few years  getting all media attention. The poor of yester-years and 'unlettered' will be sitting along with them! Imagine these elites might even be looked down! OMG!  How can they put up with that? All these
Will what started with Pandit Nehru and Edwina Mountbatten end with Digvijay Singh and Amrita Rai? I will not blame only men like these two elderly persons who should have known better than degrading women on the sly even while holding high positions. But what can we do about this, when even young women not only do not care to understand the true meaning of different relationships, but protest vehemently even when addressed as 'daughter'!
FUTURE PLANS FOR CONGRESS - DO's and DON'T's Now that the COngress has thrown down its towel, let it not think how to continue in power by hook or crook,   it might be better if it accepts to sit in the opposition for two reasons. Firstly it will help to clean itself by throwing away the corrupt elements, including its leading family members. If it cooperates with Modi and in the process there is economic progress, it can claim its own share in it, while if there is no progress, it can blame the BJP in the next election, which people will accept. Besides after five years, old stories will no more hold any serious stigma and it can again start with a new slate. May be at that when it throws away the family leadership, it can also throw away its anti-communal rhetoric and Congress seems to have reconciled to its defeat. Good. While it will try its best to come back to power reservation and subsidy policies. On the other hand if it continues to try to set up an alternative
The problem between us and our Muslim brothers: Have you watched live on the ground when an Indian team plays a cricket match in England? Most of the Indians, even those settled there permanently as its citizens, root for the Indian team. Likewise any Indian in the USA supports India's stand when faced with a common issue between the USA and India. Muslim politicians in India have created in the minds of Indian Muslims a false sense that they belong to Pakistan and that makes them feel uncomfortable in assimilating themselves with all other Indians. Naturally, any slight which they would have ignored if they were in Pakistan hurts them very much here. Again naturally, as it happens in the USA and the UK, local citizens feel quite annoyed at their feeling of separation. When our politicians do not have to depend on their en mass votes they will stop provoking Indians against them and this will lead to normalization in due course. It is not easy. The scars of partition and the
You cannot have the cake and eat it too! Even Muslims cannot deny India has treated its minority population much better than the treatment meted out to the Hindu minorities in Pakistan. There are innumerable instances of Muslims occupying highest offices from the President, Supreme Court Justices, etc. in India. Hindus are upset only when they find that the Indian minority hardly raises its voice ageist Pakistan's aggressions or treatment of its minorities as also its silence against the hardliners in India itself. Their silence against injustice only provokes even Hindu middle roaders. If Indian Muslims want to be accepted whole heartedly they should at least be willing to reciprocate. They should not expect such acceptance unless they show that they deserve it. http://indiatoday.intoday.in/story/indian-muslims-india-polling-in-india-democracy/1/355580.html
JOSHI's BALLOON: I do not have to advise Narendra Modi, he knows much better, as otherwise he will not be there where he is now. My humble suggestion to him will be to be careful with these 'aastheen ke saamp', persons with their own agenda. When you respect them for their age, they start thinking that you are respecting them for their 'intelligence'; When you tell them that they have done a job well as courtesy and not in its real sense, they think you mean 'nobody could have done it better'! I have come across many such people in my life of seven and more decades. I had a way with them. I used to call them in private, look them in their eyes and tell them with a broad smile and without any preamble: "Look, I respect your age and I know you are good enough in your place. But the minute I find that you are thinking that you deserve better opportunities, I will make sure you get out of the organization and find that opportunity for yourself. Don&
WHAT WENT WRONG WITH MMS?   Why does not MMS say something on the subject? Because all that is contained in the book are not lies and MMS cannot separate truth from fiction. Whatever he says will lead to more questions! All repeatedly say no files were taken to Sonia Gandhi, but none denies decisions originated at 10 Janpath and the PM was asked to implement them. All this has happened because of the division of our nation on the basis of language. Rajagopalachari, fondly known as Rajaji and our first Governor General, warned the nation when States Reorganization Commission was set up that our future would be dark if we divide the nation on the basis of language. His prophecy has come true. Let's hope that our new leader Modi will be able to kindle in us the feeling of unity. He knows that when the nation is poor, people fight among themselves for crumbs but if the nation is rich, they compete with each other, all of them moving up, at the same time knowing fully well that div
PM SAVED INDIA FROM MAFIA! I will not find any fault with MMS. Very soon after his becoming the PM, he knew that he was surrounded by a mafia clan which was controlled by the 'Family', in this case literally. It is not in his character to remain in power for self-aggrandizement. Still he put up with all open humiliation only because he knew that had he quit, a worst puppet like Shinde and a yes-man like Pranab would have taken over and the nation would have become a pauper in no time by the time the thieving family was done with. He knew he was the only barrier between certain hell and a bad period till the next election. But for him we might have found even EC, Supreme Court and other institutions packed with members of the clan. We should be thankful to MMS for what he has done for the nation - MMS has saved India from certain calamity!
MODI AND HIS WIFE! Let's not be flippant about Modi and his marriage. When you join Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh as a Pracharak for life, you take a vow to quit all your worldly associations and responsibilities so that you could serve your larger goal of serving the nation. That is what he did and which his young wife of acceded to. Why cannot we appreciate her courage in making her own life by studying and working on her own? Modi did care for her future. As a young boy though he might have accepted marriage, he probably was fully aware what his future was going to be and therefore, he sent back his newly married to her parent's place for three years for completing her studies. That is how he took care of her future. He just did not walk away from his wife. F rom what respected Jashodaben says I get a feeling that as much as he was responsible for her future, she was also responsible for his future by permitting him to go his way. Both of them are shining examples of ho
To heal a wound, cut it wide open!  We do give importance to serious matters, overlooking others not so important or only divide our focus. What India needs after a decade of corruption, misrule and cronyism is development, development and development. We can keep on talking about 2002 for a century, refusing to acknowledge that the bloodbath of millions in 1947 is a story that hardly moves now anyone less than 60 year old. Politicians abetted by academics  or self anointed editors are not willing to give bury the Godhra incident, because of its 'juiciness' while almost the whole of Muslim population  affected more intimately by the Godhra incident have moved ahead. We should not close our eyes and ears to the fact that this is the only issue the Congress can rake up to gather some Muslim votes. Has the Congress officially apologized for the Emergency in which thousands of young people were castrated all over India and many more were jailed without any cause and Fundamen

IS AAP A CHUPA RUSTUM? All these days I was under the impression that our journalists were not highly paid; except may be the high level TV journalists. But when a party like Aam Aadmi Party is flaunting  three journalists in its leadership, owning declared assets worth in crores, I wonder what is cooking, especially because these were less than middle order journalists and except these three and their leader AK, no one is getting much media attention. Have they been bought by a national political party secretly with its family owners declaring assets in multi-crores? My doubts are based on the listless way their campaign is going on, seemingly only with the focus on abusing BJP and its leaders. If you research the public speeches of their leaders you will find they abuse BJP 80%, other parties about 10% and talk about their own greatness 10%. Others in media seem to be well aware of this, because they have stopped helping these three ex-journalists with free publicity, as was th

Venezuelan Minister is wrong! I am afraid the Venezuelan Minister is wrong. If you really work for progress of the nation as whole it will exactly the other way. A ' young aspirational population, hyper-active media and social media' are double edged swords. When they support your programmes, they will be an asset. But God help you if you are openly corrupt or dictatorial. Increasing checks on power should help a genuine leader, because he is NOT going to be hunkering after power for his own aggrandizement, will welcome such checks as it will help him to refuse unreasonable demands citing such restrictions, while a right step in the programmed when explained properly will not encounter any restriction. Mahatma Gandhi said that those who run any business should consider themselves as trustees for the people running that business. If that advise is followed by any business, do you think there could be any conflict of interests between management, shareholders, workers and c
CRICKET UNITES INDIA PAKISTAN! Let's have two teams from India and Pakistan playing exhibition matches both in Pakistan and in India. The teams should consist of both Pakistan and Indian players, instead of only of one nation. This will force the cricket fans watching the match to root for players who play well instead of either rooting or abusing players of their own nation without appreciating any deserving player of the other team. This will have several benefits.  1. The teams will get exceptionally good bowling and batting experience.   2. Both the national teams will have a chance to top the charts. 3. The new experience will bring out the truth in the current relationship which is clouding the cricket. It will bring out the reality which is, as in sports, people of both our nations have common heritage in music, cinema, etc. which can unite us instead of dividing. BCCI should come forward to do this. They will not only make a lot of money, but also will be heralde
Jaswant Singh's self-realization! It is surprising that Jaswant Singh realized that the the reins of were in the hands of duplicates and pseudo-ideologists only AFTER he was denied a ticket! He is also able to instantly recall other 'injustices' done by the present leaders to 'established' leaders like himself. Why did not he raise these issues publicly if he was so concerned about what is going on now in the party? I don't recall he spoke a word supporting Advani's demand to allow him to fight from M.P. or shifting M.M.Joshi from Varanasi. If those instances did not merit his intervention on their behalf, why he should expect now others to bother about his predicament?
IS OBAMA A MMS TWIN? If at all India's PM had a twin ruling another nation, it would be President Obama! Softspoken to a fault, always deferring to others' views. Never imposing himself. Believing in the goodness of others! And finally getting hardly anything done! You cannot have the cake and eat it too! Or it takes two hands to clap! Or you can take a horse to drink but cannot make it drink! Whether you resort to military action or economic sanction, as you tighten the screws, so Putin gets time and opportunity to retaliate in his own way. We are long past the negotiation stage. Whatever action we take should stun the opposition. Just as Putin did. We were totally aware what he was proposing to do but we wanted to fight with words! We ruled our armed help to Ukraine right in the beginning, allowing Putin to be more aggressive. Now for another proverb: You cannot make an omelets without breaking the egg!
MODI's ECONOMICS BASED ON OLD SAYINGS! Modi reflects how Avvaiyar, a well known Tamil poet and saint, once blessed a king just by saying, "Varappu Uyara".  Varappu in Tamil language are the raised ridges on both sides of a channel which hold the water within. What she said  just meant "May the ridges rise! ". The king was upset at this seemingly irrelevant blessing. Someone then explained: When the ridges rise, water level rises; when water level rises the rice plants rise; when rice plants rise, farmer's wealth rises; when farmers status rise, the king rises and Avvaiyar was only blessing you "May you arise, O King!" implying when citizens welfare rises, so does the king.
ADVANI'S HALLUCINATIONS! Advani had second thoughts and is now having a third thought about contesting from Gandhinagar. It is understandable when we take into consideration his age and his decades old aspiration to become the PM. But what is not understandable and appreciated is his inability to keep his thoughts within the confines of only those who can keep a lid on them. He is too old to indulge in manipulations and his supporters have moved away. It is a pity his past ambitions cloud his present state of mind creating hallucinations. http://www.ndtv.com/elections/article/election-2014/lk-advani-s-statement-on-contesting-from-gandhinagar-498022
FOR A CHANGE AUTO DRIVERS OF DELHI TAKEN FOR A RIDE BY ARVIND KEJRIWAL!  Just now it was on ZeeTV that thousands of autorickshaw drivers of Delhi are up in arms against AAP for not paying the Election Commission mandated rate of Rs.1100/- per day for the advertisements all of them carried. They showed text messages received by them asking them to come to meetings giving time and place. These were the people who were the people who were the backbone of AAP which showed these people as representing Aam Aadmi everywhere. And now they are telling on TV that they had been taken for a ride!
When it comes to looting, everyone joins the mob! Claims planned for billions from Google! I have never come across a nation full of people all of whom think that the government, corporations and all services owe them but they do not owe anything other than the tax, grudgingly paid after availing all that could be avoided! Such selfishness! We want the best of food at the least price. The best of services at our beck and call. A free internet which is saving them hundreds of dollars on telephone bills and is making their life so comfortable. Nobody thinks twice before putting on the web their most personal details. But if the companies providing free service or providing service at throw away price, want to collect anonymously data about them for giving better service, they are up in arms and think of ways how to milk those companies out of billions of dollars! How tasty it is when they bite the hand that feeds them! So called 'big people' with small minds!   h
KEJRIWAL RUNNING AWAY FROM VARANASI! Kejriwal well planned his election strategy in Delhi Assembly elections. He knew, as long as BJP did not get a majority, even if he had 8 to 10 seats, he would be able to make Congress allow him to form the ministry, as he thought Congress would prefer him on any day to Modi. With him forming the government, there was some hope for Congress to have some say in the government. His plan succeeded. Besides,  inn Delhi, Congress had the rope in its hand and it was in a position to topple Kejriwal at any opportune moment. Definitely it would not have allowed his government for more than a couple of months at best and at best it would have continued its support to him till just before the announcement of election. But Varanasi is a different story. For Congress Modi's defeat is a life or death issue. The only way it can save some face is by trying to 'look' and 'fight' as though it hoped for his defeat. If it surrenders t
