OLD MAN IN THE SEA! It looks as though Amartya Sen has spoken too soon! The Govt has explained that it had received only a synopsis of the Nalanda Governing Body's re-nomination of Sen as the  Chancellor and was waiting for the complete minutes for taking action. But this old man has no patience but a lot of imagination. Probably he is justified in his assuming that the government does not want him to continue. He was fully aware he has not delivered during his first term. A lot of cronyism has seeped in the administration. He has misused funds intended for the university for his own foreign travels which are not probably justified. He might be the authority as far as academic decisions are concerned and the govt also has not questioned him on this issue; but he did not receive Nobel Prize for administration and should have known when he was exceeding his authority with the finances. He knew that after receiving the full text of the governing body deliberations, if the gover
WHY, WHY, WHY & WHAT IS IN STORE The landslide victory of Modi in the Parliamentary election, sweeping the UP has been forgotten so soon. So will the results of Delhi now. Though people have long memory, media wants only 'current news' The vote share of BJP is totally disproportionate to the number of seats it won. One of the reasons was Congress taking away the voters who were not enchanted by AAP. Secondly, you will remember some flash news carried out by all media and repeated ad nauseam after the parliamentary elections. First bunch was exhortations of Sangh Parivar and VHP members. Their similar comments which went totally unheeded by media, found eager journos and TV anchors lapping up their vomit. The PM did what he had been doing in this context. Just ignore them to their natural death. After all these years of campaign they have reached nowhere and the PM did not want to excite the cadre by condemning them openly or even responding to them. But the media
WHAT HAPPENED IN DELHI & WHY - THE FUTURE So the totally unexpected has happened. BJP soundly lost Delhi election. It is a self goal. Hit wicket. Is it a victory for AAP? I don't think so. AAP has not changed in anyway after the last Delhi Assembly election. Besides BJP had captured all the seven parliamentary seats less than a year back and followed it up with more victories in the States which went to poll since then. Its national policies are accepted by a very large majority of people. Then why this loss in Delhi? BJP had clear cut views on economic development. We were moving away from the worn out socialistic path. Finally we had a leader who convinced all of us that without economic development neither the poor can move up the social order nor our nation can be counted as a leader among nations. He made it clear that our six decades old socialistic path or past glory will not get us anywhere. Renouncing the socialistic path for economic progress caught the imaginat
SHOW ME A CORRUPTION FREE NATION, I WILL SHOW YOU A VEGETARIAN LION! Corruption CANNOT BE eradicated by laws and their strictest enforcement. It will only jack up the price for avoiding fines or punishment. Another criminal activity will grow in which criminals will demand high prices for accusing and getting punished innocent officers. Benami accounts will flourish. Babudom will support  each other very strongly and create enough and more escape routes. Remember, our courts are also not innocent of corruption and our advocates are very well known for always siding with high paying criminals. Our Supreme Court judges have declared Emergency as Constitutional! In NO COUNTRY in the world corruption has been eradicated. Let's not fool ourselves by giving credence to the meaningless slogans of AAP that they will abolish corruption. Money power is such that it can swallow and digest a dozen Lok Pals daily! http://www.ndtv.com/opinion/dear-delhi-by-arvind-kejriwal-736101
