THE MISSED OPPORTUNITY THE CONGRESS WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO LAMENT! Congress had a great opportunity to earn the goodwill of people. It has wasted it. Imagine how people would have looked at Congress if it had not disrupted Parliament proceedings but limited itself to opposing the bills with constructive amendments. The bill would have been passed and the ruling party, knowing that the bill could pass only because of the support of Congress, might have even accepted some amendments. If it had not done so, Congress would have a point that BJP is not democratic but is trying road roller tactics. Above all people would have been impressed by the change in Congress which would have been able to claim rightly that it is NOT like BJP, which had always disrupted the earlier Parliament under Congress. It can even extend its change of mind to impress on people, that because of BJP's non-cooperation, it had to take the support of unsavory parties and people during its last two terms, whi
Sharad Yadav is sitting on a point!   Truth has come out, though inadvertently! "They are supposed to run the house, instead they are sitting on protest. Who are they making demands to?" One who comes from probably a generation of rogues. Sharad Yadav made this statement in Rajya Sabha. He repeated this statement again and again several times, turning around in all directions! As if he has made an earth shaking point and smiling all along to show how intelligent he thought he was. Poor chap, he had not seen his face in a mirror for a long time! What he means is the opposition is there only to create problems for the government and it is for the government to prove that it is one better. Do you think Members of Parliament who think on these lines, are fit to be elected to the august House? Even the pit (the trading floor) of the good old Bombay Stock Exchange will be more venerable as compared to the floor of Parliament when these charlatans are indulging in their shou
Modi's master stroke: SONIA AND RAHUL RESIGNING FROM PARLIAMENT? If Rahul Gandhi and opposition parties think the flimsy charge against Sushma Swaraj and long dead issue of Raje are more important than national issues, people can see their true intentions. Only a month ago, when it was expected rainfall will be deficient, they took up land bill as the main plank expecting support from farmers. Now farmers are busy after a good rainfall and have no time for agitations. So this new adventure where they have passed judgment refusing to hear arguments! If they block Parliament they will be in the headline for another three weeks, but will be leaving a long trail of abhorrence against them in people's mind. Once this happens, BJP will not be faulted if it moves a motion and gets it passed in Lok Sabha throwing out the Gandhis if FIR against is filed against their son-in-law. Or was it the aim of the PM who allowed this matter to develop into such a tight corner for BJP? PM
NDTV IS A SHINING EXAMPLE FOR THE WORD 'PRESTITUTE' which is defined as: "Those who peddle news after painting a molehill like an attractive mountain and sell it to gullible people who want only excitement are called Prestitutes." It indicates they are no different from their namesakes who also make a mountain of their molehills to look attractive to those gullible people who are after excitement. Read the following news and get excited, if you can. It does not work always, you know! http://www.ndtv.com/mumbai-news/president-pranab-mukherjee-rakes-up-5-lakh-phone-bill-783186?utm_source=taboola
WHY MODI IS SILENT ON LAND BILL & VYAPAM? Let's not forget that the Bill is to be passed in the Rajya Sabha. Not outside in Ram Leela Grounds or in a meeting between Sonia Gandhi and Modiji. There is no sense in talking about the bill meanwhile because it is not the people now, who will decide about the bill, it is the handful of opposition MPs who will 'try' to decide its fate. Modiji doesn't believe in wasting his time; he is a doer and no talker.  Let the opposition not underestimate his fighting instincts and strategies. He is not the one who would have gone forward with the bill all the way, even if he had a little reservation about its passing. Do you think Congress is capable of outsmarting him? Assume for a minute it is capable of getting the bill postponed, how does it benefit Congress? Will people remember it till the next election? How will the opposition hold up a joint session?  Please do not mistake the opposition to Land Bill as the oppo
Pakistan Govt cannot afford a visit by Modi! What a thoughtful analysis by this 'international' expert! This unknown personality would have been the first one if Modi had refused the invitation saying Modi should have availed the invitation to advance peace talks! He is NOT visiting Pakistan for bilateral talks, but to attend the meeting of SAARC nations. (SAARC means South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation in which all South Asian countries are members, as this Congress spokesman is unlikely to know!) India being the biggest member (by population, land area, economy, etc.) if India does not attend the meeting, there will be no sense in holding it at all.  Pakistan army which controls its government fully, would very much like India being its enemy so that it can keep on inciting its people against it and keep its hold on government. India's problem is Pakistani army not its subjugated government or its people. The only way to get out this logjam is going ove
Want to get confused? Bring in a lawyer to the discussion. Please let not the lawyers and judges be the arbitrators of moral values. For a layman like me this is a classic example of "baal ka khal nikalna"! "Freedom of speech" is never intended to mean freedom to lie. The root of defamation is lie. A man's reputation is worth much more than right to lie under the guise of freedom of speech. In these days of digital world, everything said or written is recorded for ever. We see everyday reports about a person containing a paragraph also containing all earlier statements made by any Tom, Dick or Harry about him in the past preceded by the words "It was alleged by...."  even if those statements had been proved to be wrong subsequently. Don't we all remember how some Congress people tried with the full help of media exercising its 'freedom of speech' to defame our PM before the election by associating him with some lady whom he was allege
One flop party by another: The Congress's flop party - known as Iftar Party: Imagine to what depth Congress has descended when you find the likes of Nitish Kumar, Sharad Yadav and what do you know Derek O’Brien! at the table with Sonia Gandhi! To rub salt in the wound the list of the other criminals who did not find her good enough company should have hurt Sonia Gandhi more - CPI's rep Salem and CPM's rep D.Raja (anyone below their rank would not have been allowed entry by security for being unknown!), RLD's Ajit Singh. As far as Rahul G. was concerned of all people he could find only Kanimozhi for his company and what a inane question to ask of her: AIADMK's closeness to BJP! The question itself is an answer to another question doing the rounds: How intelligent is Rahul in political matters! I do not blame any of these leaders. I blame the guy who advised them to have a party at all and to cap it, invite media to the party! One last query: Why it seems not a
The last interview of Tharoor? In his interview in Saloon, Tharoor is quite eloquent as usual. Empty drum makes the loudest noise.  Ache Din for Tharoor will be when the Supreme Court acquits him of all charges. That day is most unlikely to come. "Modi Govt is continuing with the foreign policy of the previous Govt." He has not seen the reception Modi got from Indians living abroad as well as from the heads of foreign governments. Gandhi's monkey. Don't see, Don't hear and Don't talk anything good about BJP Govt. Anybody can see that the Ufa meeting was the most casual that could be. If Modi had not met the Pakistani PM, he would have been the first to accuse Modi of widening the gap and missing a golden opportunity for rapprochement. On all issues they are steadfast in having a rock hard view and that is whatever Modi does is wrong. All their arguments are based on this foundation. Poor chaps, they forget in their anxiety that a small approval now and t
Salman Khurshit, the Court Jester: At various times Salman Khurshit has proved what a foolish man he is. But this time he wins the Olympic medal for it. He says Congress need not apologize for imposing Emergency because 1. People had voted to power immediately after the Emergency and 2. It is the opposition which should apologize because it is they who created a situation which necessitated imposition of Emergency! People have also voted for Karunanidhi and his DMK party in Tamil Janu, Yeddyurappa in Karnataka, Lalu in Bihar, Chautalas in Haryana, Badals in Punjab, Communist and Congress Governments in Kerala and repeatedly for decades Communist Party in West Bengal. Does it mean they have all been absolved of all their earlier criminal acts? By the same analogy, since Congress has lost the last election, doesn't it mean that its previous rule has been rejected by people and that party has lost the mandate to represent the people? Why don't they, therefore, gracefull
AN ORDINANCE WHICH WILL GET LAND BILL PASSED IN NO TIME! Hundreds of farmers committing suicide every year is a blot on the governance and also a glaring example of how our society has been exploiting all these years the poor and almost illiterate farmers with small holdings. This has resulted in well heeled educated farmers usurping all financial and other facilities provided to small farmers in connivance with local bankers and government officials. Needless to say if thousands of farmers commit suicide because of financial problems, lakhs of them should be undergoing extreme difficulties. How could we expect the nation to progress and develop when millions of our farmers suffer in silence? To get our farmers out of this quagmire, Modi government has taken its first step by making banking facilities available to farmers on very easy terms. This will go a long way in mitigating their misery when it comes to their financial needs in future. But what about the loans and accumu
Land Acquisition Made Easy! Government can consider the following in the Land Acquisition Bill Problem: Farmers are unwilling to part with their piece of land because they had seen others who accepted the compensation, frittering it away in a few years and left with nothing. Besides they have seen land prices going up b leaps and bounds and will always feel that they are short changed. Remedy: Proposed compensation should be in multiples of current market value. But should be broken down in the form of down cash payment on possession, monthly payment for a fixed number of years, an insurance policy for a fixed sum which will entitle them to a regular monthly payment till death and on that occurrence a lumpsum payment. If proper ratio is either fixed or given as an option, while the immediate outgo will be reasonable, farmers will rest assured that their future will not be in jeopardy. Alternative options: Offer of a larger area in a different area; offer of a bank loan
The PM has a Bomb! I can visualize several reasons for the silence of PM Modi in LKM affair. The first and foremost is it is such a frivolous charge to take note of. It is all bluff and bluster of Congress. They very well know if they do not allow Lok Sabha to pass the GST and Land Reform bills, BJP will get them passed in a joint session of Parliament. It may take a couple of months more, but not for ever. The opposition cannot afford it, what with thus giving a lathi to BJP to beat it with in the coming Bihar and other State elections. Thus the Congress finds itself in a suffocating critical situation where it can neither swallow it not spit it out and to boot it, it was self created! The Congress has not yet read the psychology of the PM. None of the present leaders of the Congress come from the rank after four and more decades of selfless service. During these long years, the PM has gained the experience to overcome both internal and external squabbles and mastered the stud
WSJ! PARDON, YOUR SLIP IS SHOWING! This article is a shining example of :  1. Wall Street Journal (WSJ) never misses an opportunity to put down India even if it has to twist the news like a contortionist does his body.  2. It proves the axiom: When your head is in ice and feet on fire, statistically your body temperature is normal. The way data has been twisted in this article, I will not be surprised if WSJ compares the amount of food  eaten by an elephant and a human and says world poverty is all because of elephants eating away all the food! India's population in the year 2000  was the second highest in the world, next only to China! India: 1040 million (Withinn brackets Projected for July 1, 2015: 1299 Million) In comparison Pakistan: 140 (191), Nepal: 27 (28) Sri Lanka: 20 (21) and Bangladesh 130 (158). These figures from Wikipedia show that the TOTAL increase in the population of the other four countries compared was 81 million while the increase of INDIA AL
The Know-All Milind and his tricks! Learn from Milind how to say in a thousand words what could be said in ten words. In the guise of enlightening all of us on the net neutrality issue, he is forcing us to go through his bio data as a Minister so that struck with awe we will concede his mastery on the subject and may be even agree with him. Not only that he even drags the issue of 'health hazards of mobile tower radiation', 'comparative body mass index of Europeans and Indians' and many other irrelevant things. What was his policy? Did he incorporate the policy in laws and regulations? If not, why not? Even in the USA the rules framed by the FCC went into effect ONLY on June 12, 2015! Look up Wikipedia  'Net Neutrality in the USA' (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Net_neutrality_in_the_United_States) Just a fortnight before after fierce discussion between all stake holders, government and judiciary for years! Yes, years. But our Milind found an opportunity to
