Modi's master stroke: SONIA AND RAHUL RESIGNING FROM PARLIAMENT?

If Rahul Gandhi and opposition parties think the flimsy charge against Sushma Swaraj and long dead issue of Raje are more important than national issues, people can see their true intentions. Only a month ago, when it was expected rainfall will be deficient, they took up land bill as the main plank expecting support from farmers. Now farmers are busy after a good rainfall and have no time for agitations. So this new adventure where they have passed judgment refusing to hear arguments! If they block Parliament they will be in the headline for another three weeks, but will be leaving a long trail of abhorrence against them in people's mind. Once this happens, BJP will not be faulted if it moves a motion and gets it passed in Lok Sabha throwing out the Gandhis if FIR against is filed against their son-in-law. Or was it the aim of the PM who allowed this matter to develop into such a tight corner for BJP?

PM Modi had all the advantages which the Gandhis did not. Modi was into serious dedicated public service for all his adult life. He had the opportunity to work and live with the poor and acquire complete knowledge about their problems. He could see for himself how all political parties were trying to solve these problems. In the company of self-less life-long dedicated and knowledgeable nationalists he has learnt the political craft and possible solutions. And then, when he was ready to take over the reins of the party, he did it like a well polished leader and overnight his name was in everyone's lips - foes and friends alike.

Do you think such a person would not have foreseen the problems he is facing now? I am sure he did and has also has a winning strategy to overcome them. He was fully aware that he will not be able to execute his progressive plans unless he can control Rajya Sabha also, just as he succeeded in Lok Sabha, which took him a couple of years' campaigning. It was in fact was more like a full-fledged war, all guns blazing. A campaign like no other in the past. Not mere slogan shouting. He integrated all available media, the most recent technologies and recruited and engaged the best army to win in style. Not only the local opposition, even the world acknowledged it, as we had seen his victory march when was applauded all over the world, like no leader in the past, including Nehru.

That was only the foundation to give him a stature. He knew that the taste of the pudding was in the eating. So even the many in India, who thought his electoral victory was only because of the non-governance of Congress, started acknowledging him as a true leader. His words carried weight and he had proved it by the millions who ate out of his hands during and after his election campaign.

Had anyone else talked about the plans for the future of India in such great detail before and after the election, people would have said in chorus that it was a shining example of day dreaming! But studying the problem for decades, then winning an election, and then giving India the stature that was due to it in international arena, he took the next step. In the last one year projects and schemes were pouring in one after another almost every week. People could see for themselves life has started improving. Their trust on their PM increased many fold that he will be able to deliver the goods he has been promising.

Now comes his final fight. Modi well knew that the defeat of Congress would not be terminal and it required another death blow. He is now prepared to deliver it. He has been planning for it and the final stage has come.

In politics how do you get out your enemies, whether in your own party or in the opposition?  All have a great number of supporters, even after defeat, all have an abundance of money, their own and their party's, to spend on revival. So the enemies are killed by either a mortal blow or by disgracing them little by little and then by delivering a mortal blow.  

Modi had an abundance of ammunition left in store for him by Congress. Tainted Ministers, looted treasury and what not. The only problem was had he tried to use any of them, he would have been accused of vendetta. In politics that is tantamount to hitting below the belt. Not a clean war, neither a clean victory, if the war is won. But paying back the opposition in its own coins is an accepted modus. Modi's problem was how to make the opposition give him an opening to throw the goods at them?

Congress had no issues to fight on with Modi except for such silly issues as his coat, his foreign trips and out of turn comments by his party men. They had been throwing these at Modi. But Modi kept silent. Absolutely silent. Even when he could have countered them effectively. So much so, Congress was portraying his silence itself as an admission of his guilt! Modi was making him desperate for an issue and Modi was not obliging. Modi used their desperation. He used Lalit Modi.  What is the accusation against Modi? He did what every businessman worth his money did in India. But more successfully than it was good for him. In India he was coming from the illustrious Modis of Modi Nagar. He created IPL from scratch and made it a gold mine.  He made hundreds of millions for his political cronies in Congress from top to bottom. What did he get in return? He was driven out of India by his own 'friends' who wanted to take over his golden goose. What is the use of millions for Lalit Modi, if he cannot flaunt it to his friends here? Where he is now, he is a small fish. Modi decided to make use of him.

It happened when Lalit Modi asked for Sushma Swaraj's help for his travels out of the U.K. Do you seriously think Sushma helped him without consulting PM Modi? No question. She is an intelligent person and had been in politics for a couple of decades. Had risen from the ranks. Had proved her excellent oratorical skills in both chaste Hindi and English. Above all kept her nose clean. Her husband was Modi's family friend much before even IPL came into being and Lalit Modi became a big shot. Sushma as a senior politician and her husband as a big lawyer had in their friend's circle a large number of 'friends' who were even much worse than Lalit Modi. Above all she kept her nose clean all the more. She was yet to gain the trust of PM Modi. After all she had been a staunch supporter of Advani in his fight with PM Modi in their struggle for party leadership. Do you think she would have extended her hand to help Lalit Modi?

She personally talked it over with PM Modi and a plan was made. PM Modi asked her to help Lalit Modi. What happened subsequently, is history. Everything went according to plan. Congress was overjoyed it had something to hit PM Modi with. PM Modi encouraged them in their misadventure by keeping totally silent in the matter. Neither this way or the other. His own party men were intentionally not given any serious guidance. Hence a few talking out of turn, which made Congress think it was a serious embarrassment to PM Modi. They attacked with all guns blazing. Exactly what PM Modi wanted.

The build up to the Parliament session was terrific. There was nothing the media will talk about. Spice was added by Vasundhara Raje's dead like a dodo issue.  Congress was in the seventh heaven. PM Modi was in the sight of its guns. One day before the session, it seemed PM Modi was about to yield. Congress 'came to know' about it. BJP which was refusing to even discuss the matter in Parliament, was willing to 'discuss' it.  As anticipated by PM Modi, right then Congress fired its fatal shot. Fatal for Congress. It demanded 'resignation first and discussion later.' It never entered into its bird brain what was the need for a discussion once Sushma resigned.

Now Anand Sharma has requested the Speaker for discussion without insisting on resignation. (Surprisingly just earlier in the morning Pappu had insisted to all opposition 'colleagues' that resignation before discussion was a must! ) It is a foregone conclusion that all the shouting, paper throwing, placard holding, etc. will culminate in a walkout in Lok Sabha. But not before BJP MPs asking for setting up a Parliamentary Committee to investigate ALL accusations thrown at each other during the discussion.

Naturally BJP and its allies will have a majority in that Committee, being the largest single party. The Committee will take up all allegations raised including those against Sonia & her other family members.

Than the PM will ask all those accused from his party to resign their membership of the House and to contest again and ask for Congress Party also to go through the agni pareeksha. You know how many members of Congress will be returned even if takes up the challenge.

The latest inside news is Congress is offering a smooth passage of Land Acquisition Bill in return for letting it out of the present logjam and PM Modi has refused to oblige. But even if he lets Congress out of its mess, you know, Congress will understand the true meaning of the old proverb: "Once bitten twice shy."
