The PM has a Bomb!
I can
visualize several reasons for the silence of PM Modi in LKM affair. The first
and foremost is it is such a frivolous charge to take note of. It is all bluff
and bluster of Congress. They very well know if they do not allow Lok Sabha to
pass the GST and Land Reform bills, BJP will get them passed in a joint session
of Parliament. It may take a couple of months more, but not for ever. The
opposition cannot afford it, what with thus giving a lathi to BJP to beat it
with in the coming Bihar and other State elections. Thus the Congress finds
itself in a suffocating critical situation where it can neither swallow it not
spit it out and to boot it, it was self created!
The Congress
has not yet read the psychology of the PM. None of the present leaders of the
Congress come from the rank after four and more decades of selfless service.
During these long years, the PM has gained the experience to overcome both
internal and external squabbles and mastered the study of human psychology,
especially when it comes to plotting and counter plotting enemies. The taste of
the pudding is in the eating. He won three consecutive State elections and two
of them while Congress was in power at the Center. He has swallowed and
digested worse insinuations.
Do you think
the media created flaps against the PM were bombs which could over throw the
government in Parliament? You ain't seen them yet. The opposition have only
been old vintage grenades at him. Wait for PM's first intervention in the
coming session. It will be watched with glued eyes by every Indian having
access to a TV and Doordarshan channel or radio or a mobile. He will give you
one after another of CURRENT episodes of THIS YEAR featuring from the Gandhi
family to many self righteous spokesmen of Congress. He is going to ask the
opposition for advice as to what he should do with the charges he is leveling?
Will they resign on 'moral grounds' from Parliament or they want to force his
hands to file FIRs against them. He will ask for a response then and there, as
otherwise he is going to say, they will be forced to remain in the Parliament
premises as long as they want, as otherwise they will be arrested on FIRs about
to be filed in various police stations. When some Congress MPs try to go out
from the chamber, he is going to name and ask them not to leave, they have not
yet heard the full story!
I am not
bluffing. When Sushma's issue came up, the PM could have just made a statement
that it was on humanitarian grounds and she has his trust. Why did not he do
it? Think. If he did not trust her, he would have asked her to resign and still
he will be the winner with a halo too. He was well aware that the issue will
gain adverse criticism till he responds.
Now more issues have developed and his silence is being read as his
weakness. It is not things are getting out of his control. On the other hand,
they are going exactly the way he wanted them to. I will not put it beyond the
PM to use his agents to instigate LKM to blow up the issue beyond recognition.
Why would he
have resorted to this method? Two benefits. One. He had access to many files.
Full of evidence. Full of stories very difficult to disprove. But he could not
talk about them. Had he even let out one instance, the opposition would have
come down on him like a ton of bricks - the PM is taking revenge, he is using
confidential information to shut them up, etc. and since most of our Hon'ble
Members of Parliament in opposition and ex-Ministers and party chiefs are
involved in one matter or the other, it will be mother of hungama! Media will
not talk about anything else for months on till Bihar elections are over and
another victory for BJP is registered.
But that is
not the way our PM acts. He does not get involved in any situation, created by
him or the opposition, unless he can come out of it unscathed. All such
allegations and court cases have very short lives. Till bail is granted. Then
our obliging courts will drag them on and on for years. The PM cannot afford
it.
His strategy
is a little bit different from what PV Narasimha Rao used to remain in power
for a whole term though Congress was not in majority! The PM is going to pick
up one or two second rank leaders, not too young nor too old, who as they say
'knew too much' and go cannot be thrown to the wolves and asked to resign on 'moral
grounds' . The PM will read their
indictments after prefacing it with the statement saying he hates doing what he
is compelled to do then and hopes he will not have to resort to it again. While
this will put the Congress leadership in Trishanku Lok, prominent leaders from
the opposition will pounce on the Congress just to ingratiate themselves with
the PM so that he deletes their names from his list. The Congress and the
opposition in disarray, the bills get passed.
Now the
boots, sorry, slippers are on the Opposition Leader's legs. Confusion, panic,
trusted seconds in command suddenly finding something to do far away from Delhi
with media hot on their trail.
The PM is
back to his Yoga, office work, Man ki Baat, etc. etc. Media continues to look
for an interview with the PM! India marches onward!
