THE MISSED OPPORTUNITY THE CONGRESS WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO LAMENT!

Congress had a great opportunity to earn the goodwill of people. It has wasted it. Imagine how people would have looked at Congress if it had not disrupted Parliament proceedings but limited itself to opposing the bills with constructive amendments. The bill would have been passed and the ruling party, knowing that the bill could pass only because of the support of Congress, might have even accepted some amendments. If it had not done so, Congress would have a point that BJP is not democratic but is trying road roller tactics. Above all people would have been impressed by the change in Congress which would have been able to claim rightly that it is NOT like BJP, which had always disrupted the earlier Parliament under Congress. It can even extend its change of mind to impress on people, that because of BJP's non-cooperation, it had to take the support of unsavory parties and people during its last two terms, which decimated it.

So Congress is not to be blamed for past mistakes and that it always believed in democracy whether in power or not. It could have even claimed a share in the progress of the nation under PM Modi. 

But, the Congress leaders were not up to the challenge. The massive victory of BJP made them lose their resolve and see a dark future. In panic they took up the other method of keeping in the public eye. That is obstruct, abuse and ridicule! It never thought for a moment that these things can succeed only when accompanied by failure to govern. Don't they have memory of the last ten years of their rule.
