CONGRESS RECITES GOEBBELS GOSPEL DURING X'MAS!

This is the plan of Modi. A plan which is more likely to succeed.

Review what happened in the last two years to appreciate what Modi really did!

Congress is upset with Modi. Of course, this statement has no more any news value. But Congress has never concealed its disagreement with Modi in anything and everything he does or says. It believes in the time tested Goebbels doctrine which goes somewhat like this: If you repeat a lie ad nauseam, people tend to believe it to be true. All its slogans and programs were tailored around this slogan. "Garibi Harao!" and MNREGA are two 'shining' examples. Total lies.  But these slogans had the desired effect of returning Congress to power but apart from that had no meaning or effect! These were 'constructive' and 'effective' examples from the view point of Congress. No wonder it continues to believe in this Goebbels Gospel!

Take the recent example of Modi's visit to Lahore. All these days when Modi was accusing Congress of not having taken any effective step against Pakistan's misadventures, Congress was telling people that unless Pakistan accepted the preconditions put forward by Congress it would not enter into any dialogue. But after assuming power when Modi 'seemed' to be equally strict, Congress changed its tune slightly. It castigated and ridiculed Modi for being soft towards Pakistan after talking about his "56 inches chest"! Modi knows the best way to win an argument is NOT putting forward better arguments. Anybody can present a much better than a just better argument. Arguments do not win. Actions do. Had Modi initiated 'shanti varta' Congress would have diluted its effect by saying it was nothing new, because it was also the policy of Congress. We have heard similar statements from Congress on so many things being done by the present Prime Minister!

Modi was aware that peace in the subcontinent was a must. No worthwhile and long lasting agreement will be possible when a possible war was lurking in the background. The huge expenses being incurred in building armies were a drain on the exchequer impeding all around development. It also helped super powers to fish in troubled waters and to keep developing poor countries beholden to them. The only way to get out of this cycle of cause and effect was to forget the past and open a new chapter of amity. But before anything is done in this direction, it was necessary to prepare the minds of people to accept the facts of life.

Modi gave an indication of his mind to people by inviting Nawaz Sharif to his oath taking ceremony, but waited for an opportune time to go ahead full steam. Except for raising his voice on a few occasions before Bihar elections necessitated by the then prevailing politics, he had kept quiet. He did not raise his voice against Shiv Sena tamasha against Pakistan, which naturally made Congress take a stand, totally opposed to its earlier one,  as was expected by BJP.  Now, Congress accused Modi of 'intolerance' and led the biggest nationwide agitation since his taking over the government, demanding and asking for conciliatory measures to give peace a chance.
Modi was also not silent all these months. He kept up the pressure on Pakistan. Rightly so. People who matter, including the U.S. Government, knew that the military in Pakistan had an upper hand over its government. Therefore Modi cleverly separated its Government from the gangs of terrorists, giving a chance to its military to remain credible. Then he started contacts more seriously, but which looked very casual, starting with meetings of officials in international conferences and then Smt. Sushmaji herself meeting counterparts. Now it has come to a meeting with both Prime Ministers.
Now Congress is accusing Modi of not taking into confidence opposition parties! And doing things without any preparation or plans! I am sure had they been consulted, Congress would have supported Modi, just like they did in GST legislation! Even AFTER government acceding to their demands and making necessary amendments AND EVEN AFTER AGREEING FINALLY TO ALLOW THE BILL TO BE REFERRED TO SELECT COMMITTEE, they went back on their words till the last session of the Lok Sabha. Only a fool would have taken them into confidence and they know very well, Modi is not a fool.

What happens if Nawaz Sharif is unable to deliver? Nothing worse than what it was before. But surely Pakistan can no more say it had extended its hands for peace which India rejected adamantly. It cannot say anymore that it was India which was not willing to talk and create a sense of intransigence against it, inviting the wrath of super powers, simultaneously losing its face in international fora. But India will come out successfully. Nobody can blame it was wanting in its endeavors to find peace in the sub-continent.
