Hindus have given up practices once found religious, as unsuitable 2 modern age, such a sati, shaving heads of widows, child marriage, untouchability, etc. as society moved forward. Enlightened Muslims even in Islamic countries have not given up their religion, 2 practice what Indian Muslims hold as their religious practice quoting centuries old scriptures written 4 those living in desert killing each other of their own tribe! That too more 4 the benefit of Mullas! Educated young Muslims of India shud think if they will be able to join mainstream population and progress further if they oppose changes in their religious practices without any purpose whatsoever.

@narendramodi Online filing of appeals to the Supreme Court is the most excellent step taken for easy legal access for the poor. But is the SC it equipped with necessary no. of Judges & Staff to handle the anticipated huge volumes of new cases in addition to pending cases? Look B4 you leap! As many will have access to it, will there be privacy? Will live proceedings be added on-line or how will clients know abt oral submissions?

Ladies are the same everywhere, in he USA or in India! Jeffrey Sinclair, a serving Brigadier General of US Army is charged with sexual assault & 2 more charges. Military prosecutors are bargaining with him to plead guilty to a charge of 'mistreatment' to avoid court proceedings! Don't blame Indian judiciary! It is a hundred times better. The problem with us is we in the USA, love cutting a 'deal' for anything! You can murder someone in cold blood in a small county and if you can engage a famous lawyer to defend by paying millions of dollars in fees, the county will be happy to allow you to plead guilty to  lesser crime, such as manslaughter or even unintended killing or self defense! Because the county cannot afford to reimburse your lawyer's fees just in case it loses the case! Shame on this plea bargaining process.
